Firmware Updates

One of the great things about Cradlepoint and many other routers is the ability to upgrade firmware quickly and easily to provide support for new modems and phones and to enhance functionality.

New firmware is released every few months for most of the products in the Cradlepoint line. The updates can be downloaded directly from Cradlepoint.com, click support and your specific model, or just click the link for your router below.  Unlike some sellers, WE DON’T CARE WHO you bought your router from, hopefully you will buy your next one from us!

Here are the installation instructions for Cradlepoint and Kyocera:

1. Save the downloaded file to your desktop or another easy to browse to location.

2. Go to your device's admin pages by entering 192.168.0.1 into your web browsers address line.

3.Enter in your password (the last 6 characters of the Mac address on the back of the router)

4.Select the "Tools" tab at the top and then the "Firmware" tab on the left hand side.

5. On this page scroll down to the 'Firmware Upgrade' section, click 'Browse'

6. Browse for the downloaded file then click 'Open'

7. Click the "upload" button

8. Do not turn off or unplug the device while it is upgrading

9. The upgrading process should take a few minutes, once the screen reloads BE  SURE TO WAIT until the timer in the top line of text counts down (from 70 seconds) before doing anything.
